Same Old Thing
Every day the same thing.
In and out like clockwork.
Standing behind a plastic top counter.
Papers scattered above and below, coupon and sales enlisted.
Feet against carpet floors, voices speaking amongst the aisles.
Questions come like a rainstorm. Torrential drops of “Where is this item?” or “Do you carry?”
Moods elevating upward and down; not even the air condition can regulate.
All in all its the same old thing: The life of a cashier.
